How to
Add people and choose what they can do
For owners, how to give someone access, change or remove their role, and reset their sign-in if they're locked out.
Owners decide who can sign in and what each person can do. Give each person the smallest role that lets them do their job. See Roles, and who can do what.
Steps
- On the home page, press People and access.
- Under Add someone, type Their name and Their email address.
- Choose What they'll do. Each role has a short note saying what it's for.
- Press Add them. They can now sign in with that email address. See Sign in to Core1440.
- To take a role away, press Remove next to it.
If someone is locked out
If someone has lost their phone, passkey and backup codes:
- Confirm it's really them, for example by phoning them at their usual number. Never do this from an email request alone.
- Under their name, open Reset their sign-in.
- Type how you confirmed it's them, then press Reset their sign-in.
- Tell them to sign in with an emailed code and set up their second step again. See Set up and use your second step.
Resetting also signs them out everywhere and disconnects any AI assistants they connected. See Ask Claude or ChatGPT about your organization.
Good to know
- Someone can have more than one role, for example treasurer and member.
- The last owner can't be removed, and you can't remove yourself as owner, so the church always has someone who can manage access.
- If the person already uses Core1440 with another organization, the same sign-in is used for both. See Switch between organizations.
- Every change is kept in the audit log: who did it, and when.
