How to
Ask Claude or ChatGPT about your organization
How to connect Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant to Core1440, so you can ask about your organization's books and gifts, or how to do things, in your own words; and how to disconnect it.
If you use an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT, you can connect it to Core1440 and ask in your own words: "What did we spend on hydro this year?", "Which households gave to the building fund?" or "How do I record a cheque?" It reads what your role can see on the screens, as you, and can't change anything.
Steps
- In Core1440, open Connected assistants from the home page. Copy the address shown under Connect an assistant.
- In your assistant's settings, find Connectors and choose to add a custom connector. Some assistants call them apps, integrations or MCP servers.
- Name it Core1440, paste the address, and save. Your assistant opens Core1440's sign-in page.
- Sign in to Core1440 as usual. If your role can see the books, you'll be asked for your second step too. See Sign in to Core1440.
- Core1440 asks Connect … to Core1440?, showing the assistant's name, the website it will send you back to, and what it can read. Check it's the right organization.
- Press Allow. You're back in your assistant, ready to ask.
Good to know
- The assistant reads one organization. To connect another, use Switch organization on the home page first, then connect again.
- It sees only what your role allows. Someone who can't see the books on the screens can't see them through an assistant either. See Roles, and who can do what.
- What it reads goes to the assistant's company, under your own agreement with them. Only connect an assistant your organization is comfortable with.
- Every time it reads something, the audit log records it.
- To stop it, open Connected assistants and press Disconnect. It can't read anything after that. A connection that isn't used for 30 days ends by itself.
- If an owner resets your sign-in, your assistants are disconnected too. Connect them again once you've signed in.
- Didn't mean to connect? Press Don't allow, and nothing is shared.
- Only want how-to answers? Use the address without
/organizationat the end. It reads only Core1440's help, so it needs no sign-in and sees nothing from your organization. See Find help.
