How to
Billing and the Core1440 licence
How the free trial, paying for Core1440 and complimentary access work, how an owner chooses a plan or changes the card, and what happens if a payment doesn't go through.
Each organization using Core1440 has a licence. It's one of these:
- a free trial for its first 30 days;
- a paid plan;
- complimentary access, given by Core1440.
Payments are handled by Stripe, a payment company. You pay on Stripe's page, and Core1440 never sees your card.
Steps
Only an owner can do these. Everyone can see the licence under Billing.
Choose a plan
- On the home page, press Billing.
- Under Choose a plan, press Choose this plan beside the one you want.
- On Stripe's page, enter the card and press the button to subscribe.
- You come back to Billing. It can take a minute for the payment to show.
Change the card or plan, see invoices, or cancel
- On the home page, press Billing.
- Press Manage billing.
- Make the change on Stripe's page, then press the link back to Core1440.
If a payment doesn't go through
- Everything keeps working for 14 days. The home page says so, with the date, and Stripe emails the owner about the card.
- After that, Core1440 is look-only until it's paid. Everyone can still see, print and download the books, gifts, receipts and reports, because a charity must always be able to get its records. Nothing can be added or changed.
- When the payment goes through, everything works again straight away. Nothing is lost.
The same applies when a free trial ends without a plan being chosen.
Good to know
- If Billing says billing isn't set up yet, there's nothing to pay for now.
- People and access can still be changed while Core1440 is look-only, so an owner can let an accountant in to get the records.
